Clubhouse Program - Psychosocial support for individuals recovering from mental illness

Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Shuswap/Revelstoke Branch

Promotes recovery by providing a safe and supportive environment for people experiencing mental illness to enjoy active participation in a balance of healthy and fulfilling activities.
Recovery from mental illness is about more than treatment – it’s about being embraced by your community to connect with others and regain a sense of hope, confidence, opportunity, and wellness.

The Clubhouse centers on social, recreational and creative arts activities connecting participants with one another and with our staff. Some of our current activities include groups for young adults, peer support training, recreational outings, weekly arts, crafts, and creative writing workshops, and drop-in social events.

The kitchen program provides clubhouse members with an opportunity to learn kitchen-related skills by helping to prepare and serve nutritious lunches during weekdays. The program also provides catering services for meetings and special events.

The clubhouse also brings members together for seasonal events such as camping, dances, and holiday festivities. It’s a warm and comfortable atmosphere for people to relax whether it’s by enjoying the company of others, watching a movie, or even just having a cup of coffee and a homemade cookie.
