Participant Funding Program - For Individuals Recovering from Mental Illness

Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Shuswap/Revelstoke Branch

Financial assistance for education, training, and recreation opportunities.
Offered as part of the Clubhouse Program, the Participant Funding Program helps promote recovery by helping people experiencing mental illness access education, training, and recreation opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
Examples of some activities the program has helped support include:
  • Fitness – gym passes, tai chi classes, and yoga classes
  • Arts and crafts – quilting classes, music lessons
  • Education and skills training – Food Safe Certificate, First Aid Certificates
The Participant Funding Program committee is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who meet once a month to oversee the disbursement of funds. Currently, the committee consists of people who live with a mental illness, family members, and CMHA and Salmon Arm Mental Health and Addictions representatives. The Consumer Participant Funding Coordinator is responsible for managing and ensuring the administration of the funds.
The maximum amount to be disbursed per individual is $150.00.
